2004 :: Gaudreau purchases 50% of Unical, a company located in Longueuil, near Montreal, that specializes in glass recycling.
2005 :: In February, 2005 Gaudreau purchases the Quebec City division of the Intersan Corporation. This acquisition involves all transport, waste and recycling activities, as well as municipal contractual agreements with industries, businesses and institutions (ICI). Gaudreau thus becomes the largest privately-owned company specialising in recycled materials for the City of Quebec.
2006 :: The Gaudreau Group proceeds with the merger of these various companies in order to improve its over-all management process: Gestion J. Gaudreau inc., Services sanitaires Gaudreau inc., Récupération Gaudreau inc., Centre de tri Gaudreau inc., and Gaudreau Abitibi inc. All are now incorporated under the name of Gaudreau Environnement inc.
2006 :: The setting up of a sorting centre in Longueuil (Qc) in partnership with Unical.
2007 :: The creation of the "Société de Développement Durable d’Arthabaska" (SDDA) – a public-private partnership between Gaudreau Environnement and the "MRC d’Arthabaska". The Sorting Centre as well as the Landfill Site henceforth belonged to this new hybrid company, with Gaudreau handling the operating end.
2007 :: The opening of an ecocentre in Neuville (Qc) in a partnership with the "Régie régionale de gestion des matières résiduelles" of Portneuf (Qc).
2007 :: The acquisition of a 60,000 square-foot building in Brampton (Ontario) for recycling glass from Ontario.
2008 :: Gaudreau Environnement inc. celebrates its 50 years of existence!
2009 :: Construction of a new plant in Victoriaville for the highly mechanized sorting of packaging and the transformation of plastic. The building process began in summer 2008 and the operations started at the beginning of the year 2009.
2009 :: A new green head office was erected in the industrial park of Victoriaville in February, close to the sorting center. The choice of having a green head office came naturally to Gaudreau and is in accordance with the values promoted by the company. The use of solar panels, geothermal science and rain water for toilets are among the green energy sources used in the new building to reduce energy and drinking water consumption.
2009 :: Gaudreau Environnement purchased Tri-Recy, a company located in Becancour specialized in the renting of waste containers as well as in the collection of construction and demolition waste.
